Muley Freak Apparel Graphics

Custom Artwork Built for Hardcore Hunters

Working with Muley Freak, we wanted to create a fresh wave of apparel graphics that brought something different to the hunting industry. No cheesy clip art. No stock deer silhouettes. We needed original artwork with grit, emotion, and story behind every design.

Muley Freak is a brand for passionate hunters, bowhunters, the mule deer obsessed, the people putting miles on their boots before sunrise. Their motto says everything:

We believe that nothing is given, but rather - EARNED

We personally love spending time on the mountain chasing deer. We always want that connection and passion to show up in our artwork.

The Creative Approach

The goal was to develop a collection of graphics that were:

  • Story driven

  • Bold and gritty

  • Designed through the lens of actual hunting experience

We took a darker, more intense visual approach, using skeletons as metaphors for work ethic, grit, and the sacrifices hunters make to earn a successful season. The graphics reflect the grind that goes into chasing big mule deer.

Each design stands on its own and tells a story:

  • Quit When Dead = the mindset hunting hard until my very last day

  • Graveyard Shift = packing out a big buck in the late night darkness

  • Bear Wars = claws that represent the power of a black bear, and a nod to good luck in the field

  • Elk Country = the wild ride that is bowhunting elk

Every piece was created from scratch through hand illustration and custom type layouts.

No templates. No shortcuts.

Why These Designs Work

Because the graphics aren’t just pictures of deer
They capture the experience of deer hunting, archery hunting, and being in the mountains.

Most brands in the outdoor space play it safe. Muley Freak is the opposite. These graphics push the edge and speak to hunters who grind through:

  • long hikes

  • blown stalks

  • freezing mornings

  • the emotional roller coaster of chasing a giant buck

The designs reflect the mindset of the people wearing them.

Nothing is given.
Everything is earned.
