Taxidermy Logo & Branding
Handcrafted Taxidermy Branding Rooted in Western Grit
When Nevada Deadhead reached out to us (referred by another client, the best compliment we can get), they needed to develop an identity that would stand out in a crowded hunting and taxidermy space.
They weren’t looking for a generic “silhouette + typed text” taxidermy logo.
They wanted something bold.
Something rugged.
Something that felt timeless and connected to tradition.
And they wanted a brand that hunters would want to wear on a hat or hoodie, not just a logo on a business card.

The Goal
Build a timeless outdoor brand for a Nevada taxidermist that:
Looks handcrafted and authentic
Represents the western hunting culture
Feels premium and rooted in craftsmanship
They were not just selling taxidermy services, they were selling the memory of a hunt and a timeless tradition.
So that’s what the brand needed to represent.

Brand Direction
Timeless. Western influence. Handmade.
We leaned into a classic Americana aesthetic with weathered typography, handcrafted layouts, and custom illustrations of iconic game animals.
We built out multiple logo variations so their brand could flex across:
Shop signage
Hats, apparel, and merch
Digital and social media
And the hero branding element?
A desert bighorn sheep skull, Nevada’s state animal and an iconic symbol of the ultimate tag.

Custom Illustration
Most taxidermy branding uses simple silhouettes.
We hand-illustrated each skull for authenticity and originality.
Bone texture, horn sweep, and curvature make it feel real and unique.
Vintage Western Typography
The lettering pulls from turn-of-the-century signage.
Sharp serifs
Imperfect edges
Slight weathering
It feels like an old western trading post. It’s tough, functional, memorable.
Custom Badge Layouts
Instead of a single logo, we created a system:
Primary logo
Secondary mark
Circular badge (perfect for hats)
Wordmark for horizontal use
Hunters can throw any of these on merch and instantly know who it represents.

Why This Brand Works
Most taxidermy brands look the same.
Nevada Deadhead now has a visual identity that:
Looks established and nostalgic
Appeals to serious hunters
Works across merch and signage
Reflects western heritage and craftsmanship
This is branding that hunters want to rep, not just a business name on paperwork.
Favorite Moment
Illustrating the skulls by hand. Nothing beats taking an iconic animal and turning it into artwork that’s going to live forever on gear and signage.
