Motocross Logos & Graphics
Thursday Night Motocross is the longest running nighttime motocross racing series in the United States. Every week riders and families pack into Portland International Raceway to race under the lights. It is loud, high adrenaline, chaotic, and absolutely electric.
A collection Motocross tshirt designs. Each design captures a different race event, from 2 Strokes to ladies’ nights and classic badge graphics, celebrating motocross culture and history.
Had the opportunity to create custom apparel graphics and event logos that matched the identity of each race.
Custom Happy Hour event design featuring a vintage-style illustration of a motocross helmet filled with beer cans, created in partnership with Migration Brewing Co.
The graphics couldn’t be generic, “slap a bike silhouette on a shirt” design.
They needed motorcross apparel graphics that those specific riders would actually want to wear.
Vintage-inspired anniversary badge celebrating 55 years of motocross racing.
Each motocross event has its own identity and name, so the graphics needed to reflect:
The theme of the event
The demographic of that specific race
The motocross culture that surrounds it
Instead of one generic brand direction, each shirt and event design needed to feel like a collectible.
Gritty “2 Stroke Forever” design with skull 2-stroke measuring cup illustration.
Mascot style graphic for the “High Five 65” race.
The steps for each race design:
Research the theme
Explore visuals that resonate with that demographic
Build a unique badge, illustration, or typographic lockup
Colorways were built specifically for the shirt or merch it would be printed on. Every design needed to meet one requirement… Would someone actually wear this outside the track?
Some designs are gritty and aggressive.
Some are retro and fun.
Some are vintage and race inspired.
Every piece is intentionally different.
Retro “Ladies Night” motocross design with a vintage hand drawn feel.
Bold “Mixing Gas & Hauling Ass” design built around the 32:1 mix ratio.
What makes this project unique:
Every event has a custom design
No templates
No repeated graphics across events
Each piece is built for riders and spectators to feel like they are part of the series
Retro “Happy Hour” badge design, blending racing energy with vintage beer label aesthetics.
Vintage-inspired “High Five 65” design with bold typography and classic race vibes.
“Moto Girls Rule” design celebrating female motocross riders.
Commemorative 56th Anniversary design featuring handlebar details and custom typography honoring over five decades of racing.
Favorite Part of the Project
