Making a Hunting Brand Unique - Stillwater Co.
Stillwater Co came to us with one goal:
Create logos and apparel graphics that feel cool, fun, but different from other stuff you see in the outdoor space.
Duck Hunting logo for Stillwater Company’s waterfowl division
They found us online years ago after seeing our past work for other hunting and outdoor brands. We’ve had an ongoing collaborative relationship since, creating a number of logos, and countless graphics for tshirts , stickers, patches, hats, and merch.
Desert Duckers apparel graphic poking fun at the insanity of waterfowl hunting in the desert.
Stillwater Co is not a typical hunting and fishing brand. They are super passionate about the outdoor lifestyle but still embrace humor, fun, and nostalgic topics that can be infused with their brand.
Their people are:
Duck hunters
Big game hunters
Anglers
Folks who spend more time in boats, blinds, or the backcountry than on pavement
They needed designs that reflected that.
Neon Retro Duck design inspired by 80’s nostalgia.
We’ve developed:
Multiple Stillwater Co. logos
A library of apparel graphics
T-shirt and hoodie artwork
Patch and hat designs
Stickers and merch
Every design had to stand out in a market flooded with generic silhouettes and stock deer heads with the wrong antlers on them.

Design Approach
Instead of following trends, we dug into the experience, or tied the designs to other culturally relevant sources of inspiration.
Each graphic started with a story or a connection to something nostalgic or relevant:
The skeleton fly fisherman surfing on a trout (Rippin Lips Design)
The Grim Reaper (Fowl Reaper Design
The neon retro duck design inspired by the 80s
A skeleton riding a rubber duck while duck hunting (Desert Duckers Design)
Stillwater Co. hat patch design featuring a flying pintail duck emblem.
These are not just pictures.
They are inside jokes.
They are shared experiences.
Hunters wear these designs because they represent real memories of real fun.

Logos + Tshirt Designs
We built a flexible logo system so Stillwater Co can shift across styles and merch types:
Premium, decorative wordmark for branding
Western badge-style logo for hats and patches
Winged duck logo that works on apparel and stickers
And then we pushed into bold illustration work for apparel drops.
Example Concepts:
Skeleton surfing on top of a trout
Grim reaper waterfowl hunting at sunset
Retro 80s neon duck design
Duck boat illustration for Stillwater Co apparel.
The hunting and fishing space is full of clip art and stiff, predictable designs.
Stillwater Co wanted the opposite.
We designed every piece to be:
Wearable
Conversation starting
Fun and emotionally tied to the experience
The shirts don’t just look cool. They make people point and say
“Dude, I’ve been in that exact situation!”
Heavy Packs design featuring skeleton bowhunter after a mule deer packout.
Favorite Part of the Project
Collaborating with Stillwater on crazy concepts.
Fun ideas start out like:
“What if we had a grim reaper in duck waders? With camo?”
Exploring wild ideas and dialing them into final, merch-ready designs is what makes the process fun.
